PCSpruce – Terms of Use

DRAFT, last updated 17 October 2026. Items marked [CHECK] must be reviewed before the program is sold.

1. Who we are

PCSpruce is made by WS-Systems ("we", "us"). By installing or using PCSpruce you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use it.

2. What PCSpruce does

PCSpruce helps you keep a Windows computer tidy: it finds junk files, shows programs that start with Windows, lists programs that can be updated, gives a second opinion on the computer's protection, and shows information about drivers and USB devices. It is not an antivirus and does not replace one.

3. Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive license to use PCSpruce on [CHECK: number of computers] computer(s) that you own or are responsible for. You may not sell, rent or share your license, copy the program to distribute it, or try to take it apart or bypass its license check, except as the law allows.

4. Your files

PCSpruce is built not to delete your documents, photos or other personal files, and it asks before it removes anything it is not sure about. Even so, you are responsible for keeping backups of anything important.

5. Changes PCSpruce makes to your computer

When you choose a fix, PCSpruce may delete temporary and cache files, switch startup programs on or off, create or remove scheduled tasks (for example the weekly check or a delayed start), and change specific Windows settings. In limited cases this includes specific Windows registry values.

Microsoft does not support third-party tools that change the registry. For that reason PCSpruce does not do "registry cleaning" to speed up the computer. It changes only specific, known entries, such as the startup on/off switches.

Before it changes something, PCSpruce saves what it can to the Undo Center so that you can put it back, and it tries to create a Windows restore point. A restore point is not always possible (for example when System Protection is off, or when one was already made in the last 24 hours). Some actions, such as emptying the Recycle Bin or uninstalling a program, cannot be fully undone.

6. Other software, and remote help

PCSpruce uses Windows and other programs (for example winget and Windows Update) to update software and drivers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or the software they install.

PCSpruce can open Quick Assist, a program that is part of Windows and belongs to Microsoft, so that we can help you from a distance. Quick Assist is not made, owned or supported by WS-Systems, and we have no connection to Microsoft. Its use is governed by Microsoft's own terms. A remote session starts only when you share the code, you can see what is happening and can stop it at any time, and you should not give the code to anyone you do not trust. Remote help is offered as a courtesy and is not a promise of availability or of a result.

7. No guarantee, and limit of liability

PCSpruce is provided "as is". We do our best, but we cannot promise that it will work without errors on every computer or that it will find every problem. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any damage connected with PCSpruce is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. [CHECK: wording under Israeli law]

8. Payment and cancellation

PCSpruce is sold for a one-time payment. [CHECK: price, what is included, future paid versions.] If you bought it online, you may cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Protection Law, subject to the cancellation fee the law allows (up to 5% of the price or NIS 100, whichever is lower). [CHECK: how the law treats downloaded software, and the exact wording of the exceptions.]

9. License tied to your computer

When you buy a license it is tied to a code that PCSpruce makes from your computer. If you replace your computer or its main parts, contact us and we will move the license. [CHECK: final wording once licensing is built.]

10. Updates and changes

We may update PCSpruce and these terms. The terms in force are the ones shown in the program's Settings.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. [CHECK: courts.] Contact: [CHECK: e-mail address].
